Strategy and Business Policy
Biography
Madhulika Kaul is a PhD candidate in the Department of Strategy & Business Policy at HEC Paris. In her research she examines the antecedents and consequences of platforms’ role as private regulators. Specifically, her dissertation evaluates how and why platforms choose which rules to create and enforce, as well as the outcomes for and impact of these choices on platforms and their stakeholders such as individuals, firms, and regulators. To analyze these questions, she combines theoretical studies with large-scale quantitative analyses of observational data using recent advances in causal identification and natural language processing.
Prior to joining HEC, Madhulika earned her Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (Honours) at Punjab Engineering College, India and also her Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore. She has over seven years of work experience across management consulting, public policy, and has held various leadership positions at one of the largest conglomerates in India.
